Game blog is GOOOOO!! Kind of.
We’ll see how things develop, whether procrastination will break in sooner or later…

Anyway we’ve finally kicked ourselves to get this thing startedddd…. Being the creative types we are, we kinda rushed into beginning things and found ourselves sitting staring at the floor trying to think of a name as soon as possible… what with our busy schedules. We pondered famous video quotes hoping we’d get an amusing and unique name, yet somewhat recognizable to fellow gamers…
This is where snorkeling in the depths of my sea of thoughts -which is of course adapted to growing up with two brothers and various consoles- one Barry Burton of the Resident Evil stars team came plummeting into my pool of thoughts for one reason only:
Genius quotes!
Though part of my experimental casting was overruled by giggles, I let slip that immediately the first quote that came to mind was the jill sandwich:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vtTfptkUgj0&feature=related
And so, our site name was born!

Basically it’s going to be a site devoted to many of our most loved, purely comical, possibly slated and newly discovered games…Anything that comes into our life and leaves a little imprint.
Its going to be reviews, secrets and walkthroughs, drawings, original musical scores… as a joint effort to get a bit of perspective, give you the opinions and observations of two very different people. Soooo like I said, we’re busy people but we want this to get somewhere so an effort shall be made and hopefully you’ll be seeing results soon.
Think the plan of action is to start discussing the wonderful Resi games been a fan a long time, despite the fear and all that and it’s a good start considering our name…
We also have a list to buy, however…we plan to delve into games like Resistance 3 (OMG OMG OMG!) and Uncharted 3 (EPIC!!!) so as to continue nourishing our love of the games we’ve played so far. Plenty to say as it is, but lets make it a grouping thing…
I dunno, you’ll see.
End of pre-blogging blog.
Fingers crossed we don’t fail.

Standby for awesomeness…

-Go see journey. NOW! or Styx….

Foreigner I would only recommend if you’re one of those typical kinda samey rock fans. Not that they weren’t good. They were, very spot on with their sound and trust me, the audience LOVED em…so much so that it got to a point when I was a little “ok stop chanting, let them go…I want journeyyy.” Doesn’t help that I had work next morning and I was tired so I had that lame little voice in the back of my mind that says “I hope they get to journey soon.” Though I would’ve stayed a lot longer if they brought Styx back, who I am sick of having judged…what is wrong with Styx?? Don’t answer that…I’m just gunna get mad :p but seriously, even being quite a fan of theirs I didn’t predict that they’d be as good as they were.

Seriously I am ashamed at London the way they failed to participate, but it didn’t bother me at all that me, my mum and my aunt were the only ones freaking out. Or standing even…I mean god, are you that tired? The worst bit was that they were so into it, seemed so greateful to be there and really made an effort with the audience, like when Tommy Shaw shared his guitar playing with a member of the front row jealous… They sounded amazing especially considering how long they’ve been going, they were adorable and fun and I don’t know how anyone can watch them and not smile. Damn you all…Sadly there was no Mr.Roboto, but as its all keyboards I’d assume its a bit boring for them to play lol. Still felt satisfied, just couldve handled more, but I’m surprised they went for it at all with that reaction.

Anywho, yeah that was just the beginning…I could go on about what a thrill it was and the constant goosebumps they gave me particular during “lady” “fooling yourself” and “miss america” but you’ll probably end up closing this window…maybe you will anyway..lol.

On to Foreigner… Good live, catchy tunes…but once you’re past “Cold as ice”, “I wanna know what love is” and “Hot blooded” or like me you enjoy “Feels like the first time”… you don’t need encores and dramatics…it just gets tired, no offence to them. They were a typically great show, its just if you’re like me and you prefer a bit of a different atmosphere and want something more original you might be better with the other bands… Styx for that awesome way that everything sounds magical and epic, or Journey for their drama and their beautiful riffs…Though a lot of people probably just go for the Perry lol. Which is why you might worry this new singer might let you down. THINK AGAIN aiiite?

SO yeah, Foreigner was the band that had us going to get drinks… :/ but not because they were bad, just because they were too regular…. I don’t know, to each his own..?

Finally, Journey…oh my god Journey…

Literally, I wanna cry when I imagine being there, the fact that I’m not now… I’d see them again in a second, seriously. To be feeling proper rough and sleepy and behave the way I did you’d know they were the shiz. lol. What a night… Steve-Perry-less Journey made me wary…especially when wikipedia told me why they dropped him, but hot dayummmm did they pick a good un to fill in.

This guy!: Arnel Pineda

He’s so cute and smiley with a lot to read about his past, and you’ll like him instantly….but wait until you hear what he can do with those pipes…Apparently he’s a smoker too :s which stuns me a little. He knows his Perry is all I can say. Really. Yeah, he’s not exactly the same, but he’s bloody damn close in comparison and he doesn’t hold out on any of Steve’s legendary touches, for example the occasional belt out mid-song like in the second verse of “lovin, touchin, squeezin” when he says the word “lover” probably a weird word to describe as giving me tingles :/ but its purely his range as he says it, it just sounds so pretty. x)
Anyway Arnel didn’t miss it nor did he miss the lo-lo-lo-lo-lo-lonely part towards the end of “Ask the lonely” after the intense words that follow the chorus (LOVE THAT BIT)

So yeah he does not disappoint…but Neal Schon on guitar has nowhere near lost his touch either. Should’ve seen him shredding, he was loving it, showing off. xp didn’t miss a note during parts like the uprising tempo in “Don’t stop believing.” Really looked like he wanted to be there

Also Deen Castronovo… I’m constantly amazed by people who manage to drum and sing simultaneously because I don’t know if you’ve tried but it’s fricking hard! On top of it all, he too sounded a LOT like Steve… :s It was bizarre, but above all, really impressive. When he played “Mother, father” I think everyone was in shock…

It was an awesome setlist and a really enjoyable night even with a girls fat elbow in my way the whole time…lol.

HIGHLY recommend you go see them. If you can.

I wanna say more but I’m tired and doubt anyone will read this anyway lol.

I decided since I don’t go to the movies often but have a lot to say when I do, I’m going to review them afterwards

WARNING- SPOLER ALERT! DO NOT READ IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE AND BE SURPRISED…

I would urge you watch and make sure its at the cinema.

SO. (personal view on horror films, you may want to skip ahead) I went to see this film with high hopes that it would leave me scared to enter a dark room alone. This is because I personally miss the feeling of being terrified after watching a movie. It happened a lot when I was younger, but somewhere along the way like everyone else, emotions were de-sensitized and the ability to really, really feel something, whether its the joy of blowing bubbles or the fear of monsters under your bed; was withdrawn a little through my “maturity”. Don’t get me wrong, I still love bubbles and I still have nightmares. I like it though, it reminds me that I’m alive. Feeling constantly neutral is boring. So yes, when I heard reviews from friends saying they left shaking and pale and my sister had trouble sleeping I thought ,”I’m in!”

The film was about astral projection, out of body experiences. It was more extreme in this film though and involved certain people having enhanced abilities in travelling out of body. Their souls leaving their body an unconscious vessel and traveling too far, getting lost in “The further”; the place where all the dead souls are still wandering around hoping to live again and jump at the chance to steal this body that is currently without its soul. Some are just sad souls who dream to live again and some are parasitic demons who wants to cause harm and destruction and need a body to do so.

I have to say the first half of the film, though slow-going, was probably my favourite bit. I find films scarier when they have that eerie, realistic sense that just can’t seem to be explained. Better still with that “home-movie” camera effect because it makes it seem like a true story. When you put yourself in that situation you go “Oh my god I’d run if that was me” or whatever. As the story unravelled it all made more sense and it was quite an interesting idea, but the part that really got me was the jumpy uncovering of the “visitors.” For example the weird caped man that paces up and down the patio and that scene where there’s banging on the door and the security alarms going off. I literally left my seat with a jump as the whole audience simultaneously noticed the face through the curtain staring into the crying baby’s room. It was an awesome unveiling and following up that freaky discovery with the father of the house checking for people and after he locked the door and returned upstairs, to go back down and see the lock broken, door wide open, revealing the darkness of the outside was just so unnerving it worked perfectly.

Anyway, though they kept up their ability to make us jump, I also feel that they revealed a little TOO much. Things they couldn’t follow up to… Mainly the demon they most feared. Don’t let Leigh Whannell (woo!) scribble down some awesome sketch of this hellish black figure with his red face and black hole eyes, with the kid describing him as a guy with “fire on his face”; then show loads of him towards the end looking way too human, with green eyes, and face paint that reminded us all way too much of Darth Maul; using a sewing machine, while his silhouette -to me- resembled count Olaf from Lemony Snicket’s “A series of unfortunate events”. They threw on some hooves, a forked tongue and a tail, and when he burst out of the cupboard it created another good jump from the audience, but I really think they should have used some special effects or something and made him more alarming.

I did however, like the other “visitors” who were just lost souls looking for a body to possess and had some crazy expressions and scenarios. The face on the woman who shot her family was priceless. There were actually a few comedic parts in the film. By the way, loved those glasses with the tiny torches on.

There were a few parts that ruined it purely because they made the audience crack up and ruin the atmosphere, it was funny but for example, when Josh’s mother reveals to him that he used to travel too, that she had to seek help to stop his night terrors and keep him away from visitors; she hands him photographs of a woman in a veil who is constantly being captured in the pictures behind him, moving in closer. She can’t be seen in real life but in photographs its clear as day, and the fact that the pictures made her look so obvious kept making the audience laugh.

Overall though I think that they executed this idea very well. I thought the ending was interesting in that you thought it was all okay but the old woman, being able to see souls all the time snuck out a camera to take a picture of Josh, who then killed her for it and you realized it was his body but not his soul. It was the woman from the mirror. At first I was a little confused as I thought, when Josh was in that chair with all the soul’s all around him, he woke up before they could touch him. However it was reminded that he was looking at the woman mirrored and moving backwards while he shouted at her to leave, therefore she was probably already in him, or moving into him then and there.

I can’t say I was too fond of the aggressive and frantic music it played over the title at the end though. lol. It just seemed a bit unnecessary and a bit too loud in the cinema. Funny though.

Anhyway probably not a film to watch twice, unless you think you missed anything, but not a bad film in conclusion. If you did read this and didn’t notice, look out for the little jigsaw doll when you watch

(on the blackboard behind Josh when he’s staying late at school)

Partly because I still don’t feel like I deserved a three week holiday in the best parts of Canada PLUS a ticket to see the foo fighters lol…wtf? But also because its got that video of all the shit in the world we can’t control and I feel like I take things for granted. Also though cuz it just reminds me of obsessing over the album on holiday with my family and I don’t think we spend enough time together anymore. Not all my fault but none of us are very good at making the effort :/
There’s loads of guilt songs for different reasons but my head’s spinning a little and this applies to everyone I live(d) with.

Nah umm, I guess I’d just pick a song I taught myself on guitar while I was learning…other than that all I’ve got is Rockband to support me lol. Though I’m quiet and don’t like to be heard, I’m more of a singer than a player. Wish I had a musical talent to speak of but unfortunately I just plain suck. lol. However I used to like playing (and singing) this…

Umm…Got loads in mind cuz a lot of the stuff I like is a bit depressing… but yeah I always used to say “cemetery drive” because, well, little bit obvious, but its got that good feel to it, its emotional but not too miserable…but yeah, I’m not sure..I’d kind of want something that doesn’t make people feel worse, but same time get them to care a bit but also see they’re allowed to feel n get upset and stuff…so umm if you want something decent this is a good one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5anLPw0Efmo or if you want something that means a lot and has that feel but is still a classic with a few twists, possibly something a bit messed up these are good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNZwMG_QUGs and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VurhzANQ_B0
